The Spark

One week. Jam-packed vendors.

Studio was looking for fun things we could build to engage people. We had one week in the Chicago office filled with vendors like Shutterstock and Getty. It was an exploration of print materials and clever products we can offer clients.

Role

UX & Tech

By understanding colors a trained eye can identify the color by the code!

Know the drill?

Hey everyone! We all know the drill, right? RGB for digital, CMYK for print.

Hex codes, spot colors, client brand guides... making sure that perfect 'Crimson Fire' red doesn't turn into 'Muddy Maroon' when it hits the press. It's crucial, it's detailed... and let's be honest, sometimes it feels like a pop quiz we didn't study for.

What if we could turn that daily color challenge into a game?

The Workflow

Prompt-to-Spreadsheet

I asked Gemini to collect all client name swatches into a spreadsheet. This AI pivot moved us from data collection to build in hours, proving that AI is the ultimate scrappy toolkit.

UI & Animation

Worked with Jack on UI. Amy McVey provided copy. Jack animated a bird flap, and I used AI to generate CSS paths.

The upside-down bird stayed for the jest of it.

Audio

Dave's Audio Bits

Dave matched the vibe with audio triggers for correct/incorrect answers, turning a simple quiz into a visceral experience. He also animated the **swatch fan**.

Swatches, Hexcodes and Brands, Oh My!

The Reveal

"Score 6 or more, nice work!"

Mirrored to the break room display. Correct answers earned points, but mistakes cost you. High-stakes office trivia.
